Straddle handstand flag progression to one arm
  • Start in a handstand position with your arms fully extended. Make sure you have a stable base with your hands firmly planted and your gaze directed at the floor between your wrists. This is your starting position.
  • Begin the lateral descent of your legs to one side in a controlled manner, keeping them apart as you switch to a one-arm handstand grip. Lower your legs and bring them together until they are parallel to the floor, forming a ninety-degree angle with your torso.
  • Hold the position for the designated time, managing balance by pressing with your fingers and maintaining lateral core tension. Finally, return to the vertical handstand smoothly or lower yourself to the ground with control. The key to this exercise is the ability to dissociate hip movement from scapular stability without losing the vertical alignment of your torso at any time.
